Look Good, Feel Good, Run Good…

September 5th, 2012 by The Daily Tiara

These past few months have been nothing but extremely hectic, which should explain my lack of posts. Currently, I am in the thick of my career as a student and it will only get more difficult as the semester continues on. Ideally, I would love to post as much as I can, but for now it will be whenever I get spare time. Hopefully, it will be more often than not because this is a great stress reliever!

Speaking of stress, a few weeks ago I decided to go on a new diet to help with my anxiety. So far, so good. I do not follow it exactly but use it more as a guide. Along with this diet, is a workout. Something I have never been to fond of. But, because it is the start of a new semester, I decided to give it a try. Therefore, leading to the reason for my post!  After a paragraph of explaining, which I know was not necessary, here is what currently helps me keep my workouts going!

Currently my favorite workout top! I hate taking it off.

{Lululemon}

A much more economical choice that a majority of my workout clothes consist of!

{C9 by Champion at Target}

Maybe not this exact tank, but the overall idea is what I like. This Texas heat is brutal so having some air flow is key.

{Lululemon}

And of course, my favorite hair ties I can’t live without..

{Lucky Girl Hair Ties}

Looking good while exercising can sometimes have a positive effect on your workout. At least that is the case for me. What is your go-to brand for workout clothes? I would love to expand my workout wardrobe!

Great Weekend

January 8th, 2012 by The Daily Tiara

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend so far. I have had an amazing weekend to say the least. For the past ten years, I have been attending numerous Houston Texans games. I was born and raised here and have been a true fan for a long time. We’ve had some tough years and it’s been a long journey but this weekend they did something that they have never done before, win a playoff game. This was our first year to play in the playoffs and the city of Houston has been beyond excited. Billboards and lights are everywhere supporting our team. Whether we win or lose here on out, I will be nothing but proud of this team. I know this is more of a “fashion” blog but I am just so excited I had to post some pictures! This is by far the best game I have ever attended. The crowd was crazy loud! Now lets hope the Broncos win tonight, I’m a huge Von Miller fan!

Corso Como

January 6th, 2012 by The Daily Tiara

For Christmas, my boyfriend really wanted to get me a pair of boots. The pair I had were getting old and it was definitely time for new ones. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, so we decided to just look around until we found the perfect pair. As soon as we stepped foot into Nordstroms, it did not take long. We found these (below) and as I tried them on, I had so many looks and two different people quickly asked where I found them within seconds. Besides the obvious reason of buying them (everyone loved them), is that they are comfortable as well. Inside, there is a lot of padding for your feet, which makes them easy to wear all day long! The picture does not do them any justice. When they are worn, they are even more beautiful. I have never heard of this brand before, but I am a huge fan of Corso Como now! They have some really beautiful shoes and I definitely have my eye on some more of their products.

{added bonus: sparkly touch on the bottom!}

-I read some reviews on them and many said they ran narrow. My mom has a very narrow foot and when she tried them on, they were actually a little too wide for her. Also, some reviews stated that they were too tight around the calf. I have not had any problems with the fit of the boot. My calves are not that tiny but then again I barely work out so they aren’t that large either! Anyways, I love these boots and if you are on the market for a another pair, I recommend you give these a try!

Coffee Addiction

January 4th, 2012 by The Daily Tiara

It has come to my attention that not every one is familiar with Starbucks’ VIA instant coffee. My parents and I have grown an addiction to it, and now purchase it by the bulk. My favorite Starbucks drink is a grande, iced vanilla latte with half the vanilla syrup. Those who are avid Starbucks buyers, know that the average cost for a grande is well over $4. If you drink that everyday, you are spending approximately $130 (say it’s about $4.33, give or take over a period of 30 days). That adds up quick and think of the things you could buy with that! If you’re like me and refuse to give up coffee, this is a perfect alternative!

If you buy the VIA’s through amazon, you can get a pack of 50 for $28.95. That’s $0.579 a packet. Now you are only averaging $17.37 on coffee a month. That is a huge difference.

The coffee is now purchased and I still need my vanilla latte. What I do is pour a very small amount of water into a coffee cup and heat it in the microwave like the directions state. From there, I pour the VIA packet into my cup and stir. Let it sit for a few minutes to cool off. Pour into a larger glass and add your desired amount of milk, ice and Starbucks syrup of your choice, which is about $10 (you’re still coming out ahead and the syrup lasts forever!). Now you have your iced latte but for a fraction of the price. These drinks are quick to make and the only step that takes long is waiting for your water to get hot!

Hope you give it a try and like it as much as I do!

Makeup Review

January 3rd, 2012 by The Daily Tiara

I have come to the conclusion that Chanel makeup is my absolute favorite. I’ve had an obsession with it for the past few years and can’t seem to change my mind on how amazing it is. A little on the pricey side, but I personally think that it is worth it. My mom has always given me a hard time for liking it due to the cost, but she quickly came to the realization that she too has developed a love for it. I recently received some new products to add to my collection and I have nothing but good words to say about it all. I know there are some people out there who may disagree with me, but this is what works well for my skin. Others may have their favorites so feel free to share what works best for you! Us girls are always looking out for the next new thing to try.

1. Base: In the past, I have never worn base just because there are so many different kinds out there and I never knew which to try. I decided to go for it with this and I love it so far. It has done a great job keeping my foundation on all day and gives my foundation an even look.

2. Foundation: This is Chanel’s new foundation and you may have seen it advertised lately in different magazines. My aunt had bought this and recommended that I go get some. It was worth it, because it gives a beautiful glow to my skin. It is suppose to have better coverage compared to some of their other foundations, which is another reason I wanted to try it. It has not disappointed me yet!

3. Concealer: What I really like about the concealer is that it can also be used as eye primer. After covering up some blemishes, I put some of this on the lids of my eyes and it works great as eye primer. So it’s pretty much like a two-in-one purchase!

4. Concealer/Shadow Brush: This works great used with the concealer above. Not much to say, but I really like it so far. Not really necessary to have because I am sure there are brushes out there for half the price but hey, it was Christmas so why not!

5. Powder: I really like this powder and after I do the above steps, this puts it all together. It gives a very pretty look and applies really well to the face. Anyone recommend the Chanel powder brush?

6. Eyelash Curler: Here is another “why not” purchase that I had to have. I love this curler so much. The look of it is truly amazing and gives my eyelashes a pretty curl! Not necessarily recommended, but why not? It’s beautiful!

7. Mascara: Okay, here is a recommended buy. I love this mascara and literally every time I have worn it, I have received a compliment on my eyelashes.

8. Lipstick: For the finishing touch, I got this lipstick. I don’t know if this is any better than a cheaper brand, but I love the color and way it applies to my lips.

Like I said above, not everyone will agree that this is the best, but it’s what works great for me! Everyone has their favorite brand that they like to stay true to. What is your favorite? I’m always up to try new things.

Nailed It

January 2nd, 2012 by The Daily Tiara

For those who know me well, know that I am absolutely obsessed with nail polish. I love just about every color although, I do have my favorites. I’m a sucker for dark colors which is one of the reasons I love fall and winter. I recently received Chanel’s “Steel” not too long ago and it is my current favorite. I love the dark shade mixed with a pretty sparkle. In order to add a holiday touch, I went and picked up Chanel’s “Pirate”. At the moment, I am wearing Steel on my nails, along with Pirate on my toes. I love the combination. For Christmas, my wonderful Aunt gave me Butter’s “Royal Navy”. It is the perfect color because when applied to the nail, it’s dark and has a beautiful blue tint to it. Between Chanel’s Quartz and Steel, along with Butter’s Royal Navy, I will constantly be painting my nails!

Christian Louboutin

October 28th, 2011 by The Daily Tiara

This semester for school has definitely been the most difficult {which explains the lack of posts}. I am finally taking upper level courses for my major and it is tough! Fortunately, my dad bought these gorgeous Louboutins for me before school started as a little inspiration gift. These are probably one of my favorite things I own. They are surprisingly comfortable and go with almost anything. My dream has always been to own a pair and I wanted to make sure that I chose a style that I would get the most use out of. As for my next pair, I would like to get the classic black and then move on to the fun styles!

Burberry Brit

October 27th, 2011 by The Daily Tiara

Wow, it has almost been two months since my last post. I have been so incredibly busy with school and time has just flown by. I will try to put a post together of some of the things that I have been up to. In the meantime, winter is approaching which means cool weather is near. I actually got these back in August and have only been able to wear them a few times. It is still pretty warm here in Texas, but on the occasional cool day I will slip these on.

I absolutely love jeans but I am also very picky when it comes to the right fit. My favorite has always been Joe’s Jeans until this Burberry pair came into my life. I love them. They sit perfectly on my hips and are very comfortable. If you are on the market for a nice pair of jeans, I highly recommend a pair of these.

Do you have a favorite brand that you love??

Block the Rays

September 2nd, 2011 by The Daily Tiara

In order to start the new school year off, I HAD to get some new sunglasses. While I spend most of my days walking through campus going to class, the sun is always in my eyes. Therefore, I convinced myself that these Chanel sunglasses were an absolute necessity! I haven’t had a bad day since (well, except for realizing that I have been going to the wrong class all week, oops!). Everything about these are great. I love the bright gold, with a slick Chanel written across the sides. These do not disappoint!

Hamsa and The Evil Eye

August 31st, 2011 by The Daily Tiara

This past weekend, I was very excited to attend the Woman’s Hospital of Texas Labor Day Luncheon and Style Show. I had a wonderful time with my mom and her cousin. We definitely did a little shopping at the amazing booths that were set up. After we finished our rounds, it was time for lunch. We enjoyed a great style seminar of the latest fall fashion while we ate. Then came the fashion show. It was fun looking at all of the different outfits for women, men and children. Overall, we had an amazing time and I am looking forward to next year!

Here is what my mom bought me at one of the booths. As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to have it. I absolutely love how dainty it is. If you have read some of my earlier posts, you can tell that I usually go for the delicate jewelry.

{Here is a Hamsa.  According to this website, the hamsa symbolizes “the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign. It brings it’s owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune.”}

{The second symbol on this bracelet is an evil eye. According to another website, here, “The evil eye is a shield against various forms of bad luck that is willed onto you by others.”}

{Here is a picture I found from chron.com (taken by Dave Rossman) of my beautiful mom and I. You can barely tell, but I am wearing my new bracelet in this photo. I am also wearing the dress I posted about here, and the white bracelet I posted about here. Although you cannot see them, I am also wearing my new shoes that I can’t wait to post about next!}
