Hamsa and The Evil Eye

This past weekend, I was very excited to attend the Woman’s Hospital of Texas Labor Day Luncheon and Style Show. I had a wonderful time with my mom and her cousin. We definitely did a little shopping at the amazing booths that were set up. After we finished our rounds, it was time for lunch. We enjoyed a great style seminar of the latest fall fashion while we ate. Then came the fashion show. It was fun looking at all of the different outfits for women, men and children. Overall, we had an amazing time and I am looking forward to next year!

Here is what my mom bought me at one of the booths. As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to have it. I absolutely love how dainty it is. If you have read some of my earlier posts, you can tell that I usually go for the delicate jewelry.

{Here is a Hamsa.  According to this website, the hamsa symbolizes “the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign. It brings it’s owner happiness, luck, health, and good fortune.”}

{The second symbol on this bracelet is an evil eye. According to another website, here, “The evil eye is a shield against various forms of bad luck that is willed onto you by others.”}

{Here is a picture I found from chron.com (taken by Dave Rossman) of my beautiful mom and I. You can barely tell, but I am wearing my new bracelet in this photo. I am also wearing the dress I posted about here, and the white bracelet I posted about here. Although you cannot see them, I am also wearing my new shoes that I can’t wait to post about next!}
